UCSD: Pines Restaurant & Muir Apartments

Architects Delawie Wilkes Rodrigues and Barker brought us in to fabricate some of the feature elements for Pines, the La Jolla on-campus restaurant they designed for the University of California at San Diego.  We fabricated and installed three super-sized stainless steel and custom art-glass dining tables with steel and Ipe hardwood planter boxes as matching, supporting bookends.  We also produced a massive (and extremely heavy) pre-cast and polished concrete dining table supported by a gleaming, monolithic stainless steel base.  Custom stainless steel and Ipe planters completed the patio.

UCSD also asked us to fabricate and install all of the tables and umbrellas on the exterior deck.  Custom stainless steel table bases and special fittings (below the deck) were fabricated to ensure both maximum durability and stability.

Not long after the completion of Pines, we fabricated approximately 100 custom stainless steel dining and side tables for the adjacent, newly constructed Muir Apartments.  To complete the job,  we built eight custom stainless steel and teak benches to adorn the elevator landings.
